No. 25: "Welcome to 2019"

Thank you for all of your positive feedback - we appreciate it.

Our goal for this year is to continue to provide our Southern Ontario senior golfers with timely and accurate information on a variety of tournaments and golf happenings.

Our website,, will have a season-long calendar that includes information on the following: tournaments, individual club invitationals, Golf Ontario, Golf Canada, Canadian Senior Golf Association, the Senior Ryder Cup Playoffs & Championship dates, as well as any other new events that come up. As in the past, we will continue to e-mail (and post online) a regular newsletter (blog). Not many things in life are free, but will continue to be. If you haven’t already, please make sure to subscribe at the bottom of this post.

It is often a dedicated group of individuals from various clubs that take the time to organize and execute successful events. It is with great pride that they host these events, and we want to take the time to commend and thank them for all of their great work last year. Participation is key to the success of many senior tournaments, so make sure to check your calendar early and sign up!

Last month, it was nice to see friends from our community at the Toronto Golf and Travel show from February 8th to the 10th at the International Centre on Airport Road. The doors opened at noon and the crowd arrived to see what was new for 2019. In attendance were Doug Piett, Frank Mattei, Rob Chiki, and Ken Dunlop, all active members of the Senior Ryder Cup. The show had booths with offerings from all around the world – if you needed to find a place to get away, this was the show to attend. There was a generous offering of new and not-so-new golf equipment, as well as items that made walking more comfortable, and items that improved your posture and had been featured on the hit show Dragon’s Den… “I tried it and it helped”. All in all, a great variety and a nice way to spend an afternoon.
