No. 19: "Paul Weber Remembered"
Monday, August 27th,
Galt Country Club home of the Paul Weber Memorial Senior Invitational – Paul joined Galt Country Club in 1997 after years at Craigowan Golf Club where he and Darryl Gueguen ran their Senior Tournament. Paul after joining Galt Country Club approached Dave Smallwood their head pro with the idea of having a Senior Invitational at Galt Country Club. The idea took off and in 1998 the first Senior Invitational was played. Paul was a great friend to many and supporter of senior golf , when his health failed his friends wanted to ensure the tradition continued and have done so. Paul is remembered each year as the overall champion receives the Paul Weber Memorial Trophy. Paul, you are missed by many but you are with us in spirit.
This year's overall winner was Jim Briggs for the second time with a score of 71. The overall Net winner was Bruce Hoath
